Psalm 1:2-3
(Blessed is the man whose) delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.
Ezekiel 47:1-12
(Read verses 1-11) Ezekiel sees a river flowing from beneath the threshold of the temple. There were a great number of trees on each side of the river. The river flowed through the Jordan Valley and into the Dead Sea. Where the river flowed into the Dead Sea, the water became fresh and large numbers of fish were living there. (v. 12) “Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”
This logo is a reminder of true health. It is what each of us can become if we keep ourselves “planted” beside the river of God’s love and grace. We can do this by delighting in His law and consistently meditating on it. We must truly trust (with our hearts, not just our minds) in the Lord and place our entire confidence in Him. We will never cease to bear fruit despite times of heat and drought in our lives. We will become healthy, thriving, mature, fruit-bearing people who will nourish and heal those around us.
